InScribed upon My Heart

These necklaces by Lisa Leonard will be available
to purchase along with the InScribed book in 2014.

I just finished a Google Hangout with the most amazing group of women: authors Donna Gaines, Jenifer Jernigan, Ashley Linne, and Sarah Francis Martin; and marketing savants Jennifer Keller and Bethany Carlson. Authors Heather Zempel and Wendy Blight were in absentia and greatly missed. We talked for an hour about the launch of several books being published by Thomas Nelson in 2014. The brain-child of publisher-extraordinaire Frank Couch, InScribed is a collection written by a network of women authors and speakers who aren’t just coworkers–we are friends.

The project kicked off last February when we all met in Nashville. Since that meeting, dozens of creative minds at Thomas Nelson have worked together to create this collection. Graphic designers have been busy with our book covers, InScribed logos, and marketing tools. Editors have been helping us authors perfect our manuscripts for our readers. Web-geniuses have created our website–launching September 9–and all sorts of other html-related things I will never understand! It is a group of people inspired to improve women’s lives through shared Bible studies and life experiences.

I look forward to sharing more information about this collection and my own book, Barren among the Fruitful, in the coming weeks. The opportunity to write with and befriend these women is a blessing I never anticipated. They have supported me as I’ve worked on my book, launched social media sites, and face a cross-country move in the middle of the collection’s launch. I know their words will inspire and encourage you too!

Stay focused; do not lose sight of mercy and truth;

engrave them on a pendant, and hang it around your neck;

meditate on them so they are written upon your heart.

(Proverbs 3:3, The Voice).
